How long will Wet & Forget Outdoor take to work?

It depends on the intensity of the contamination. If it is really light you will see results within days. Otherwise, it may take 2-3 months to see improvement. Your concrete may turn reddish brown when Wet & Forget Outdoor is applied. This is normal and shows you have a good reaction. The discoloration will dissipate over a short period of time and is not permanent. The good news is when you use Wet & Forget Outdoor the following season the cleanup will occur within weeks. In the very worst case scenario, where contamination is extreme, it may take 6-12 months to work.

When is the best time to apply Wet & Forget Outdoor ?

Apply Wet & Forget Outdoor on a cool, dry, windless day, when no rain is expected for 4-5 hours. Often the evening or early morning is the best time to apply; when evaporation is minimal. This way, the treated surface stays wet with Wet & Forget Outdoor for an extended period of time. Wet & Forget Outdoor can be applied at any temperature above 32 degrees. How long can Wet & Forget Outdoor be stored?

Wet & Forget Outdoor has an unlimited shelf life. It's non-caustic and non-acidic. Wet & Forget Outdoor can be stored in the original bottle as a concentrate or as a dilution in your garden sprayer. The product will not deteriorate after being diluted nor damage your garden sprayer. Always keep the cap tightly fastened and the product out of the reach of children.

Will Wet & Forget Outdoor affect my pets?

Not under normal circumstances. However, after application, keep your pets off the surface until it is dry to ensure they don't ingest any of the Wet & Forget Outdoor. If they accidentally walk in the treated area while wet, rinse your pet's paws with fresh water as a precaution. Wet & Forget Outdoor is safe for pets if it rains after the dry time. Will Wet & Forget Outdoor damage my plants?

Only if Wet & Forget Outdoor is sprayed directly onto a plant. Protect plants from overspray by rinsing with water before and after application or covering them during application.

Will Wet & Forget Outdoor remove the contamination off my decks?

Most definitely! It will clean any type of decking, including composite decking. If your deck is older and black with contamination, wait a month after applying Wet & Forget Outdoor and then give the area a light brush with a scrub brush and warm water. You will need to reapply Wet & Forget Outdoor after this scrub but the good news is you should only have to do this once and then the maintenance becomes easy.

Can I Use Wet & Forget Outdoor on composite decking?

Can Wet & Forget Outdoor be used on any outside surface?

What is the dilution rate of Wet & Forget Outdoor?

Dilute Wet & Forget concentrate 1 part Wet & Forget Outdoor to 5 parts water.

What is the coverage area of Wet & Forget Outdoor?

The coverage of Wet & Forget Outdoor depends on the porosity of the surface. For example, porous surfaces will readily absorb the product and painted surfaces will use less product.

Can I paint or stain over Wet & Forget Outdoor?

Once the surface has come clean, you can paint or stain right over Wet & Forget Outdoor. Its great for extending the life of the surface as it not only removes moss, mold, mildew and algae, but also the surfactant action helps remove dirt and other residue. Spraying your house annually with Wet & Forget Outdoor will extend the life of your paint.

How soon after application can we start painting?

Thoroughly saturate the surface with Wet & Forget Outdoor on a cool dry day. Late in the day is best. Leave the growth to start decomposing for 2-3 weeks (the longer the better) then prior to painting or staining, gently pressure wash the surface. Growth, dirt and residue will come off faster and easier. The surface will also be sterile reducing possible contamination of the new paint with algae and fungi.

Can I use Wet & Forget Outdoor on my pool surround?

Wet & Forget Outdoor is ideal to use around your pool. Any over spray will not affect the PH in your pool.

Should the dilution rate be changed for Wet & Forget Outdoor?

No, Wet & Forget Outdoor works best when the dilution rate is 1 part Wet & Forget Outdoor to 5 parts water.

Should I sweep or wash the surface before applying Wet & Forget Outdoor?

Ideally, remove any excess debris. It's not necessary to wash the surface prior to application. Wet & Forget Outdoor must be applied to a dry surface.

Can I apply Wet & Forget Outdoor with a hose end sprayer?

No. Most hose end sprayers do not have the correct dilution rate for Wet & Forget Outdoor. We recommend a pump-up garden sprayer. To learn more about pump up garden sprayers, click here.

Can you use Wet & Forget Outdoor to clean the grout in exterior tiles?

Yes! Wet & Forget Outdoor will remove the moss, mold, mildew and algae stains.

Can I store Wet & Forget Outdoor in a place where the temperature drops below 32 degrees?

We do not recommend storing Wet & Forget Outdoor in an area that could freeze or have temperatures below 32 degrees.

Will Wet & Forget Outdoor harm the glass in my windows?

No, Wet & Forget Outdoor is a gentle product and will not etch the glass in windows. However, Wet & Forget Outdoor may leave a residue on the glass. After the Wet & Forget Outdoor has dried, you can wash the glass portion of the window with glass cleaner to remove any residue.

I just applied Wet & Forget Outdoor to a concrete surface and it turned an orangey brown color. Is this normal?

Yes, this is a normal and temporary color change that occurs on some concrete surfaces right after application. The color change indicates you have a good reaction between the organic growth and the Wet & Forget Outdoor. The color will disappear over time.

Does using Wet & Forget Outdoor help conserve water?

Yes, Wet & Forget Outdoor does not require a pressure washer or rinsing after application. The only water you need to use when applying Wet & Forget Outdoor is the couple of gallons needed to dilute the product 5:1 per the directions. Wet & Forget Outdoor is specifically formulated for outdoor use and requires exposure to the weather in order to work properly. We do not recommend using Wet & Forget Outdoor, indoors.
